Phone: 850.973.1562
I am Mrs. Tamika Hughes-Leeks, a passionate educational leader focused on integrating systems and services to elevate schools and scholars to excellence. I am a third-generation educator continuing a long and fruitful legacy in public schools. I have served in Pinellas County Schools at the secondary level for more than twenty-four years and serving in school leadership for more than fifteen years.  I honed my skills in supporting challenging and dynamic as a classroom room teacher, as a MTSS Staff Developer and as a Graduation Coach at multiple sites in the district. I served as an Assistant Principal at the middle and high school levels supporting exceptional education, fundamental magnet, migrant, and turnaround school settings.  I also served as the founding principal of Disston Academy, Pinellas Teleschool and district leader of Extended Transition.  In my final stop before to transitioning to Madison County Schools, I served as a high school principal. Each of these experiences has provided me with invaluable insights into the unique needs of scholars, parents, and educators.
My educational background includes a Bachelors of Science degree in Education from the Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, a Masters degree in Educational Leadership from St. Leo University, and an Education Specialist degree in Curriculum and Instructional Management and Administration at Nova Southeastern University. I have extensive support and endorsement as a graduate of the SREB/FLDOE Turnaround Leadership Programs, the Harvard Graduate School of Education's Turnaround Leaders Institute and the National Center on Education and the Economy NISL program to name a few.
Personally, I have been married for nearly three decades and am the proud mother of four including a veteran of the US Coast Guard.  I have two scholars currently attending public school here in Madison County Schools.  And, I am grounded by my faith, my family and the fellowship with others in life.
